Who is a care Giver?
Care giver is a person who is providing care for the patients  and attending to all his basic needs including regular consultation, treatments, assisting him at the day centre / half way home in the improvement of his daily living, skills, improvement of quality of life and skills development.
Role of care giver 
Initiate consultation with psychiatrist and act according to the medical advice. (Institutionalization / regular consultation and follow up treatment without defaulting)
Develop daily living skills

When he is at home, engage him in some activity so that he is not confined to the room/home
Refer him to centre where his quality of life is improved and skill development is provided
If there is no such facility, do this at home with family members, relations and the society 
Improve his personal hygiene
Weight monitoring and relevant exercise 
Regular blood testing for cholesterol and diabetes
Regulate the diet according to the illness they suffer from such as diabetes , hypertension etc.
Observation of the other ailments or as complained by the patients and arrange for consultation and treatment by relevant medical personnel

Problems they encounter in caring patients at home
Their behavior at home 
Whether they become violent at home and how they are handled at such situations
Whether they get confined to the room or home only

Whether they are taken to the psychiatrists regularly

They are meeting to learn more about the problems associated with the mental illness of their family members
Proposals for security of their future
Arrange with the relevant authorities to ensure transfer of the personal drawing by their parents before they die
Transfer of lands, estates (if any) legally to them
Opening up of bank accounts for them and deposit money
Provide self employment for them
